Ahhhh Steve Miller music and a margarita……a perfect summer combo! It’s back in stock and chances are it won’t be for long…..it’s our all-natural margarita mix ($9.99) from The El Paso Chile Company! Made with meyer lemons, key limes, and pure cane sugar (not corn syrup) this rita mix is the best! We even have some customers use this mix for Key Lime Pie recipes and something called a Margarita Cake! We haven’t tried either of these, but here at Faraday’s we are always willing to taste-test for you! This mix works the best for margaritas on the rocks and is awesome as a “Texas Martini.” We even have the Armadillo Eggs (jalapeno-stuffed olives $6.99) for the garnish! Le Cadeaux melamine dinnerware is très beautiful, très durable, and très HOT !
SUPER HOT ITEM !!! At Faraday’s we can’t keep this dinnerware in stock! The brand is Le Cadeaux and they have the most durable melamine dishes around… their melamine recipe is triple the weight of standard melamine. Drawing inspiration from the beautiful hand painted pottery of Italy and France there are several patterns and a beautiful solid yellow. All of the styles have plates, bowls, and serving pieces ranging from $12-$30. These are AWESOME for everyone….by the pool, on the boat, with the kids, etc! All of the pieces are dishwasher safe, lead and cadmium free, and are virtually UNBREAKABLE! At Faraday’s we have a patio table set up with all of the designs mixed together. Come in and play around with all of the pieces and find out what the winning combo is for you.
Party with Red Hot Chile Peppers (on the Grill)!!!
The true sign of a summer par-tay is a chile pepper off the grill! Preferably stuffed with goodies and wrapped with my king, Bacon. At Faraday’s we have two chile roasta’s complete with a pepper de-seeder. One option retails for $17.99 and the rack will hold up to 12 peppers. The other option retails for $19.99 and can manage up to 18 peppers!
Tony’s KILLER recipe:
1. Go to Faraday’s and get your chile roasta. (You know you want to come in here anyway!)
2.Preheat the grill to 350-400. You can also do this in the oven, just place the pepper rack in a pan to catch drippings and cheese.
3. Core and clean each pepper. I highly recommend using rubber gloves because pepper juice is mean and hurts! Set peppers in rack.
4. Cube 1-2 cooked chicken breasts in pieces suitable for stuffing. Place chicken in peppers.
5. Add cream cheese or goat cheese to peppers. I think an icing bag works beautifully.
6. Wrap each tasty pepper with even more tasty bacon. Use a toothpick to keep pepper and bacon together forever!
7. Put on preheated grill and close cover. Should take 10-15 minutes.
8. Remove from grill and enjoy eating all peppers in about 10-15 minutes. (You don’t have to eat them that quickly, but you will!)
Get creative with these treats….use smoked cheeses, meats, any herbs…I even saw a recipe using peanut butter! Whatever you’ve got or enjoy will work. Let us know your ideas, tricks, recipes, etc.

The Kitchen Diva comes to Faraday’s
Wow… people say Austin is becoming our own little Hollywood, well now its spread to Lakeway! This month we have been the “film set” for 3 Celebrity Events! First we had Chef Sara Moulton here, then Chef Dzintra from The Next Food Network Star, and finally we have The Kitchen Diva for Fox 7′s Good Day Austin filming an episode in our beautiful kitchen! The Kitchen Diva a.k.a. Angela Shelf Medearis is helping to teach two of the self-nominated “Worst Cooks in Austin” for a contest on Fox 7′s morning show. Let me tell you this “Diva” is gracious, patient, informative, and SPICY! She has sold millions of her books and even been challenged by Bobby Flay to a throwdown. She tries to add her “Diva-tude” into everything she makes! There has been a lot of awesome cooking and laughter…always a sign of good eats to come! Check out the recorded segments on Fox the first 3 Wednesday mornings at 8:30 am in July and the last week will be done live.
The question of the blog is, what is the worst thing you ever cooked? For me, I don’t think I will ever forget when I helped the kitchen make some marinara sauce back in my Macaroni Grill days and accidentally used sugar instead of salt. Something I am always extra-cautious of every time I have to use either sugar or salt!
Ready for your next morning? We’ve got your Cuisinart Single Serve Brewing System ready to perk you up!
Hot off the (coffee & tea) presses…Cuisinart just released its Single Serve Brewing System for coffee, tea, cocoa, and more! Out of K-Cups and have some coffee or tea at home? This machine comes with the “My K-Cup” which is a mini-coffee filter that allows you to brew whatever coffee or tea you wish. It brews wicked quiet, has a water filter, and instant hot water dispenser. You also have enough “head room” for even your tallest travel mug .
