Keep your butter soft and spreadable in a ButterBell!

One of our best sellers in recent memory has been the Butter Bell by L. Tremain. ($22.95, available in 10 colors). The Butter Bell is an American riff on a traditional French method of storing butter. It keeps butter fresh and spreadable without refrigeration- the butter’s freshness is protected by an airtight seal of water at the base of the crock.

Butter Bell’s innovative design keeps butter at the perfect “spreading” consistency by reflecting outside heat while insulating and cooling the butter. The Butter Bell’s lid is specifically created to hold the butter in place. The lid nestles in, but does not touch the base of the Butter Bell’s decorated crock.

The butter bell holds up to one full stick (1/2 cup) of butter. Pack your softened butter firmly into the bell-shaped cup of the lid. Pour cold water into the base of the crock, then place the lid upside down back into the base of the crock. When you need soft, spreadable butter, just lift the lid, flip it and set it on your counter or table- you can serve right from the Butter Bell.  Water should be changed out every three days: replace the water in the base with fresh, cold water. Keep your Butter Bell in the kitchen or on the table away from heat.

No more torn toast!  Get a Butter Bell to enjoy spreadable butter any time.
