Waffle Makers & Waffle Mixes

Waffles first were brought to America by the Dutch immigrants who came to New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania in the 17th century. They were further popularized when Thomas Jefferson returned from a stay in Europe with several waffle irons he acquired in Amsterdam.

There are two basic types of waffles and waffle makers- classic waffles, which are thinner and have smaller, shallower indentations; and Belgian waffles, which are thicker with deeper intents. The choice is up to your personal preference- either one is delicious!  The waffle mixes we carry can be used for either type of waffle iron.
