Faraday’s Kitchen Store Cooking School hosts both demonstration-style and hands-on Cooking Classes throughout the year supporting the Bee Cave, Lake Travis and Austin areas of Texas. Working in a modern, professional kitchen, you’ll be inspired by our talented, creative chefs who will demonstrate techniques and give you the skills needed to prepare simple, delicious meals at home. A light meal is provided with each class. 

Classes range from 12 to 14 students per class, and each space is sold in advance on a first come, first serve basis. If classes are full, we will be happy to add you to our waiting list. Most Classes are two hours in length, unless otherwise detailed within the class description.

NOTE:  If you have any dietary restrictions, please call us and ask if this can be accommodated BEFORE registering for class.  We cannot guarantee that chefs will be able to make last minute changes or cook separate portions for special needs.

Wednesday, May 29th, 6-8 pm

Mediterranean Bliss with Chef Domonique Liddell! Chef Domo will teach you to make a delicious and healthy Mediterranean-inspired menu that will knock your guest's socks off! Menu includes: Spicy Mediterranean-style Chicken Curry with Vegetable Biryani Rice; Garlic Naan and homemade Tzatziki Sauce, and Cucumber Lemonade. The cost for this demonstration class is $59 per person.

"I Love Luby's!" Cooking Class with Chef Heidi Witteborn! Chef Heidi grew up going to Luby's, as did many folks in Austin. In this class you'll learn to make some of Luby's most popular dishes: Baked Haddock Almondine, Mac and Cheese, Pot Fried Cabbage, and Chocolate Icebox Pie. Chef Heidi will be serving Luby's Cloverleaf Rolls to accompany this meal and she'll include the recipe. The cost for this demonstration class is $59 per person.

Magical Flavor Boosters: Salt & Pepper! Hands-on Class with Chef Jenna Rasmussen. Salt wakes up flavors by way of enabling our flavor receptors. When it’s well-used, salt manages to make food taste not salty, but more like itself. Meanwhile, pepper adds a sort of body and boldness, without being overly spicy or distracting. You could say that pepper brightens flavors, while salt amplifies them. In this class, you'll be cooking with Chef Jenna to prepare dishes that showcase different salts and peppers. Menu includes: Pepper Chicken with Cacio e Pepe pasta, and Chocolate Cake with Salted Caramel Icing. The cost for this Hands-on class is $69 per person.

The Ultimate Beef Wellington Class with Chef Heidi Wittenborn! Quite a few foodies include Beef Wellington among their cooking ambitions. It's an amazing dish, but fraught with peril- overdone beef, soggy pastry, mushy filling. Success is all about TECHNIQUE. Do each step right and you'll be the hero of your own kitchen, with all your dinner guests singing your praises! For this class, Chef Heidi will be preparing individual Beef Wellingtons topped with a Red Wine Sauce and a few crumbles of Gorgonzola. A great Sauteed Spinach side dish completes this tour-de-force meal to impress your guests. The cost for this demonstration cooking class is $69 per person.

Hands-On Pizza Making Class with Chef Daniele Panella! In this class, you'll learn to make the perfect Italian pizza crust for both thick and thin styles. We will then make a Margherita Pizza with Basil, Tomato and Fresh Mozzarella; a Tex-Italian Pizza with Sausage, Jalapenos, Red Pepper, Onion and Oaxaca Cheese; and a tasty Nutella dessert pizza. You'll enjoy a family-style meal, and get all the recipes to take home with you. You'll be as stuffed as a calzone when this class is over! The cost for this partially hands-on class is $79 per person.

Elevate your BBQ Side Dishes with Chef Heidi Wittenborn. Everybody focuses on the meat for BBQ, as well they should.  But great BBQ deserves great sides.  Chef Heidi will show you some twists on the traditional ones like potato salad and coleslaw as well as introducing you to some new ones.  She'll be making Roasted Potato Salad With BBQ Dressing, Kimbell Fruited Slaw, Sweet and Sour Bean Salad, and Street Corn Pudding.  Whether you're working on your best Texas brisket, trying your hand at perfect pork ribs, or experimenting with rubs and sauces for chicken, these sides will impress your family and friends at your next BBQ. French Bistro Cooking Class with Chef Uyen Pham! You'll imagine yourself sitting at a bustling sidewalk cafe in Paris with this delicious menu from the talented Chef Pham, which includes: Lyonnaise Salad with Mixed Greens, Frisée, Bacon, 7-minute Egg, Croutons, and Red Wine Vinaigrette; Pan-seared Steak with Pomegranate Demi-glacé, Chilled Summer Ratatouille and Moroccan Couscous; and for dessert, Parisienne French Crêpes with Mixed Berry Compote and Chantilly Cream. The cost for this demonstration cooking class is $69 per person.

Hands-On KNIFE SKILLS CLASS with Andrew Curtis-Wellings of Cangshan! Join us as Andrew, from locally-based Cangshan Cutlery, teaches you to handle your knives like a pro! In this HANDS-ON 1-1/2 hour workshop sponsored by Cangshan, you’ll learn how to grip, chop, cut, slice, julienne, chiffonade, mince and more! You’ll also learn the best way to care for and maintain your knives. We will provide knives to use during class. The cost is just $49 per person, but the knowledge you'll gain is priceless.

Join Chef Daniele Panella for a HANDS-ON Pasta Making class!
You'll work in the kitchen with the chef to make two kinds of pasta with sauces. Menu for this class includes: Fettuccine Mare e Monti alla Marchigiana, Gnocchi Parmigiana, and for dessert, the chef will prepare Ricotta and Strawberry Parfaits.  When the cooking is done, you'll enjoy a family-style meal, and get all the recipes to take home with you. We All Scream for Ice Cream!
Cooking Class with Chef Heidi Wittenborn. Homemade ice cream is part of Chef Heidi’s memories of childhood summer days. Learn to make ice cream and make some sweet memories for yourself. This class will explore the ins and outs of making ice cream. She'll be making classic churned French vanilla ice cream; a no-churn roasted cherry ice cream, and strawberry angostura bitters sorbet using a modern dry ice technique that gets you ice cream in about 5 minutes. The cost for this demonstration class is $59 per person.

It's a Cajun Feast with Chef Eric Beck! We're excited to welcome Chef Eric Beck to our roster of instructors. Chef Eric will bring you some Cajun specialties, including irresistably Crispy Air-fried Fresh Okra; Spicy Red Beans, made with Ham Shank and cooked in the pressure cooker; Seafood Gumbo- the real deal, with dark brown roux, Gulf Shrimp and Seafood, and Dirty Rice, a true Cajun staple. The cost for this demonstration class is $69 per person. Laissez le bon temps rouler!



Sunday, July 14th, 1-3:30 pm
Cold Soups for a Hot Day! Class with Chef Heidi Wittenborn. Who wants to eat a hot, hearty meal when it's ridiculously hot out? Not us! Most people think Gazpacho or Vichyssoise when they think cold soup. But there are so many more. Chef Heidi will teach you how to make both a classic Gazpacho and Julia Child's Vichyssoise as well as Avocado and Crab Soup, Chilled Chickpea and Tahini Soup with Vegetable Garnish, Indian Kachumber Soup. The cost for this demonstration class is $59 per person.


Faraday’s Class Cancellation Policy

We understand that life happens, and emergencies do occur.  However, we also hope you understand our commitment to all of our students and the preparation that goes into creating a successful class.  For this reason, we ask that if you are unable to attend a class, you must notify us at least 72 hours in advance of the scheduled class time to receive a refund or credit towards another class.  If it is less than 72 hours before a class, all cancellations are non-refundable (even if someone else gave this class to you as a gift).  If you cannot attend a scheduled class, we encourage you to send someone in your place.  In this case, please call ahead and notify us of the participant change. Reservations for groups of 5 or more require 7-day notice of cancellation for a refund.

Faraday’s Kitchen Store reserves the right to cancel classes. In that event, we will notify you and provide a full refund or credit. All classes are held in our store at 12918 Shops Parkway, Suite 540, Bee Cave, TX 78738.
