Faraday’s Kitchen Store Cooking School hosts both demonstration-style and hands-on Cooking Classes throughout the year supporting the Bee Cave, Lake Travis and Austin areas of Texas. Working in a modern, professional kitchen, you’ll be inspired by our talented, creative chefs who will demonstrate techniques and give you the skills needed to prepare simple, delicious meals at home. A light meal is provided with each class.
Classes range from 12 to 15 students per class, and each space is sold in advance on a first come, first serve basis. If classes are full, we will be happy to add you to our waiting list. Most Classes are two hours in length, unless otherwise detailed within the class description.

Sliding into Summer with Chef Heidi Wittenborn! Chef Heidi is sliding into summer with sliders – those perfect little bites of goodness that everybody loves. In this class, Chef Heidi will teach you how to make the perfect slider buns. Then it’s time to fill those buns up. Chef Heidi will fill hers with Braised Pork Belly, Cheesy Smash Burgers, and Salmon Patties to make sure all your friends and family can get in on the slider joy. Springy Soups with Adam Wisnewski! Soups are a great dish to have any time! You can make a pot of soup on your day off, and enjoy easy meals for a few days afterward. In this class, Instructor Adam Wisnewski will teach you to make three delicious soups that you'll love. A French Bistro Delight with Chef Uyen Pham! You'll imagine yourself sitting at a sidewalk cafe in Paris with this delicious menu from the talented Chef Pham, which includes: Lyonnaise Salad with Mixed Greens, Frisée, Bacon, 7-minute Egg, Croutons, and Red Wine Vinaigrette; Pan-seared Steak with Pomegranate Demi-glacé, Winter Ratatouille and Moroccan Couscous; and for dessert, Parisienne French Crêpes with Mixed Berry Compote and Chantilly Cream. "Sitting on the Dock of the Bay" with Chef Demeatrie Funderburk! The Chesapeake Bay is known for its unique combination of delicious seafood and charming Southern hospitality. In this class, Chef Demeatrie will introduce you to some of the classic flavors of this Mid-Atlantic region. Your menu includes: Duo of Crab Cakes (one regular, one vegan!); Pit Beef Sandwiches (A true Maryland tradition- thinly sliced Roast Beef, Kaiser Roll, and "Tiger Sauce"), served with Old Bay seasoned Fries; and Berger Cookies, derived from an 1880 recipe: cakelike Cookies with a rich Fudge Frosting. Creole Traditions with Chef Demeatrie Funderburk! The lines between what's considered Cajun food and what is Creole are sometimes blurry, but to simplify the distinction, you can consider Cajun food to be rustic and rural, while Creole cuisine is "city food". The French influence is strongest, but vestiges of Italian, Spanish, German, and even Caribbean can be found in some Creole dishes. Join Chef Demeatrie for a Creole Feast, featuring Crawfish and Sweet Corn Spoonbread; Red River Shrimp and Grits; and New Orleans-style Pralines. Knife Skills with Shun! Join us as Chefs Chris and Kathy LaLonde teach you to handle your knives like a pro! In this HANDS-ON 1-1/2 hour workshop sponsored by Shun, you’ll learn how to grip, chop, cut, slice, julienne, chiffonade, mince and more! This class will bring you a small sampling of this delightful, underrated food. Traveling to Türkiye with Chef Demeatrie Funderburk! Did you know that Turkish cuisine has been dubbed the third richest cuisine following French and Chinese? In addition to being the refined product of centuries of experience, Turkish Cuisine has a very pure quality. Home cooking is very, very common. In this class with Chef Demeatrie, you'll enjoy: Ezme, a traditional Turkish salad or meze, known for its fresh, spicy and tangy flavors; Doner Kebabs, a large piece of beef or lamb roasted vertically as it rotates, sliced in thin portions and served with onions, pickles, tomatoes, yogurt rolled up in flatbread; and Kabak Tatlisi, a delicious pumpkin dessert. Faraday’s Class Cancellation Policy
We understand that life happens and emergencies do occur. However, we also hope you understand our commitment to all of our students and the preparation that goes into creating a successful class. For this reason, we ask that if you are unable to attend a class, you must notify us 72 hours in advance of the scheduled class time to receive a refund or credit towards another class. Within 72 hours of a class, all cancellations are non-refundable (even if someone else gave this class to you as a gift). If you cannot attend a scheduled class, we encourage you to send someone in your place. In this case, please call ahead and notify us of the participant change. Reservations for groups of 5 or more require 7-day notice of cancellation for a refund.
