Faraday’s Kitchen Store Cooking School hosts both demonstration-style and hands-on Cooking Classes throughout the year supporting the Bee Cave, Lake Travis and Austin areas of Texas. Working in a modern, professional kitchen, you’ll be inspired by our talented, creative chefs who will demonstrate techniques and give you the skills needed to prepare simple, delicious meals at home. A light meal is provided with each class. 

Classes range from 12 to 14 students per class, and each space is sold in advance on a first come, first serve basis. If classes are full, we will be happy to add you to our waiting list. Most Classes are two hours in length, unless otherwise detailed within the class description.

Decorate A Gingerbread House in Your Own Unique Style with Chef Heidi Wittenborn's guidance! Architectural Digest, here we come- We’ll provide the gingerbread house and everything you need to decorate it, you’ll take home your own masterpiece to share with family and friends. Chef Heidi will demonstrate basic piping techniques you can use to add some fun flourishes to your house if you wish, as well as provide all the candies and decoratifs your dream house needs. The cost for this hands-on class is $49 per person. This is a fun class to take with your kids!

Stainless Steel Cookware Workshop with Hestan! In this one-hour demonstration workshop, you'll learn the benefits of using Stainless Steel/ Titanium Cookware to improve your cooking experience, develop new techniques, and produce better results! Chef Uyen Pham, Culinary Professional at the CIA, will take you through two recipes: Steak Sliders with Sauteed Onions, and Avocado Toast with Fried Egg, to show you how cookware can transform your meals. Samples of each recipe will be provided. USA-Based Hestan Culinary will be sponsoring the day and offering cookware promotions. The cost for this demonstration workshop is $10 per person.

A Salmon Dill-ight! with Chef Jenna Rasmussen!
Salmon and Dill go together like Peanut Butter and Jelly. In this fun hands-on class with Chef Jenna, you'll work in groups to make Brie and Dill Stuffed Salmon with Crispy Potatoes, and for dessert, you'll make Lemon Eclairs. After the cooking is over, you'll sit down and enjoy the fruits of your labor! The cost for this Hands-on class is $69 per person.

Saturday, January 13th, 11 am to 1:30 pm.
Tex-Mex Classics with Chef Heidi Wittenborn. You don’t have to go out when you’re jonesing for Tex-Mex! This class will teach you how to make great beef enchiladas, refried beans, and Spanish rice as well as tacos and guacamole for the perfect Combo Plate #1. Add an ice-cold Mexican beer and you have a great meal. (All of our classes are BYOB!) Even better, you can make more than you need and freeze it for another round. Everything- including the guacamole- will freeze beautifully. The cost for this demonstration class is $59 per person.

Hands-On Pizza Making Class with Chef Daniele Panella! In this class, you'll learn to make the perfect Italian pizza crust for both thick and thin styles. We will then make a Margherita Pizza with Basil, Tomato and Fresh Mozzarella; a Tex-Italian Pizza with Sausage, Jalapenos, Red Pepper, Onion and Oaxaca Cheese; and a tasty Nutella dessert pizza. Southern Comfort with Chef Frankie Childs! Chef Frankie kicks off her tenure with us with this menu of delicious Southern specialties that are as warm and comforting as a bear hug. Menu includes: Corny Cornbread with Garlic Butter Dip; Old Fashioned Chicken and Dumplings completely from scratch, including roasting the spatchcocked chicken and making bone broth; Garlic and Lemon Grilled Asparagus; and for dessert, the ambiguously-named "Pink Stuff", a quintessential cold, sweet Southern salad that's been served by Meemaws for generations. Putting your Cast Iron Pan to Work! with Chef Heidi Wittenborn. Your cast iron frying pan can do more than sear a steak or fry up some bacon and eggs! Chef Heidi will show you some more ways to use this versatile pan. French Bistro Cooking Class with Chef Uyen Pham! You'll imagine yourself sitting at a sidewalk cafe in Paris with this delicious menu from the talented Chef Pham, which includes: Lyonnaise Salad with Mixed Greens, Frisée, Bacon, 7-minute Egg, Croutons, and Red Wine Vinaigrette; Pan-seared Steak with Pomegranate Demi-glacé, Winter Ratatouille and Moroccan Couscous; and for dessert, Parisienne French Crêpes with Mixed Berry Compote and Chantilly Cream. The Ultimate Beef Wellington Class with Chef Heidi Wittenborn! Quite a few foodies include Beef Wellington among their cooking ambitions. It's an amazing dish, but fraught with peril- overdone beef, soggy pastry, mushy filling. Success is all about TECHNIQUE. Do each step right and you'll be the hero of your own kitchen, with all your dinner guests singing your praises! For this class, Chef Heidi will be preparing individual Beef Wellingtons topped with a Red Wine Sauce and a few crumbles of Gorgonzola. Mastering Fish- 3 Week Hands-On Series with Chef Heidi Wittenborn! Fish is a high-protein, low-fat food that provides a range of health benefits. But did you know that 70% of Americans ONLY eat fish in restaurants, and rarely, if ever, cook it at home? We're looking to change that! In this 3-week hands-on class series, Chef Heidi will be exploring cooking fish. This hand-on class gives you the chance to learn about selecting the best fish and great ways to prepare it. You'll learn different cooking techniques including some you may not have tried before. We'll be working with mild, white-fleshed fish like trout, catfish, and mahi mahi as well as salmon and tuna. Chef Heidi will teach you how to set up the perfect smoked salmon platter, cook fish en papillote, make fish cakes, sear the perfect tuna steak served with Sauce Vierge and more. This class will also explore a few raw/semi-raw preparations that are not sushi. Class will meet for 3 consecutive Saturdays (February 17, 24, and March 2nd) from 11 am to 1:30 pm. This is an Intermediate-Level class, and attendees should have basic cooking skills. Ages 15 and up. The cost for this hands-on series is $199.00 per person.

"Noodling Around" Cooking Class with Chef Uyen Pham! There are countless different types of noodles and noodle dishes found in cuisines across the world. This class will focus on four wonderful Asian noodle dishes. Faraday’s Class Cancellation Policy

We understand that life happens, and emergencies do occur.  However, we also hope you understand our commitment to all of our students and the preparation that goes into creating a successful class.  For this reason, we ask that if you are unable to attend a class, you must notify us at least 72 hours in advance of the scheduled class time to receive a refund or credit towards another class.  If it is less than 72 hours before a class, all cancellations are non-refundable (even if someone else gave this class to you as a gift).  If you cannot attend a scheduled class, we encourage you to send someone in your place.  In this case, please call ahead and notify us of the participant change. Reservations for groups of 5 or more require 7-day notice of cancellation for a refund.
