Polish Stoneware originated as a Folk Art in the early 1800's. Today in a small village in Boleslawiec, Poland skilled artisans individually hand-craft and hand paint each piece using a sponge stamping technique. By carefully cutting nature inspired shapes from dried sea sponges, each artist applies their designs in a continuous stamping rhythm until each pattern layer is complete.  The resulting patterns will hold subtle variations making each piece its own unique creation.

The result is a beautiful combination of functional and decorative stoneware!

All stoneware is formed from a white clay exclusive to the Silesian region of Poland with a unique lead free glazing which is applied and then fired at temperatures in excess of 2000 degrees centigrade. This process creates non-toxic stoneware pieces. This extremely durable stoneware will not crack or chip easily, will cook evenly, hold heat and cold for longer periods of time and clean up easily.  Elegant yet practical!
